TANTUM CORPUS follows the whole day of a pig killing, from dawn to evening, at a village house in Hungary. Every step of the process is captured with honesty and respect. To reach the prey, one must cross the river on a hand-operated ferry, cross the fields, go to the forest, and wait for the right moment. Hairy becomes black, then white, then red. The camera follows the transformation of a forest-raised hairy Mangalica pig into charcuterie. It has nothing to do with soul or reason anymore. The spirit resides elsewhere.
